  • Ep. 04: An Internet For Funny Women
    1 hr 28 min 31 sec

The internet in India is 75 men and 25 of women, making Indias digital gender gap the widest in the world. Its clearly reflected by how women get portrayed in this content and what kind of opportunities really come their way. If you go on TV, the typical Saas Bahu show will have you believe that all women really want to do is serve their husbands or scheme against other women and if we watch the typical comedy show it will portray women as a prop for male humour. Thankfully there are some women creators online who have really taken matters in their own hands to drive a change in this mindset. In this episode, we talk to two wonderful women who are leading this charge and changing the landscape for female creators. First up, Anisha Dixit who is better known as Rickshawali talks about how she became a comedy creator. Well also talk to Tracy Dsouza, the boss lady behind Girliyapa, an allwomen team that has created its own brand of very accessible humour balanced with hardhitting satire.
