  • Believe It Or Not- BJP Is World Largest Party| What Does The Data Say| Episode 63| PM Modi-Amit Shah
    18 min 17 sec

The Bhartiya Janata Party BJP seems to be suffering from Organizational disorder. The party and its leadership have the desire to be projected as the biggest, largest. No. 1 in the world, tallest etc. The facts do not matter, the irrelevant glory is all that matters. A dangerous selfdestructive trend is clearly getting visible. In this episode I take a look the BJPs claimed membership numbers – Eighteen crores which is close to 13 of India’s population. BJP attained the position of the ‘World’s largest Political Party’ nipping China’s Communist Party around 2015. The BJP has a rather opaque method od adding members and then declaring the membership numbers. Increasing memberships is an event in itself and appears like it is forced upon people. Otherwise, which other political party would accept members on getting a missed call With this erratic strategy and erratic behavioral pattern, BJP finds itself in the company of parties run by Erdogan of Turkey Justice and Development Party, Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia Prosperity Party and TahreekeInsaaf of Pakistan headed by Imran Khan. The transparent and methodical methods of acquiring members remain with China’s Communist Party, and the Republican Democrats of the US. I also show that in India, it really does not matter how many members a party has. It is an irrelevant piece of statistics. What matter is the people who ultimately vote for the party. So all that money spent by the BJP to acquired the 18 crores members has actually gone down the drain with no benefits to the BJP, the voters or citizens at large. The money spend is only to glorify the few top leaders of the party.

Reason the frequent meetings with Poll strategist Prashant Kishor. After handling the political campaigns of different parties, in most of the cases ensuring success, Political strategist Prashant Kishor now wants to work with th grand old party of the Country the Congress. The campaign projected Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav as the face. However, the campaign did not work and the BJP swept the state. The Saffron surge swept away most of the seats held by both the parties. After that, Prashant Kishor and Congress did not directly work together. When Capt Amarinder Singh was Punjab CM, he did hire the services of Prashant Kishor, but that was limited role. • I&B Ministry Advisory Warns TV News Media Over "Provocative, Misleading" Coverage Over Jahangirpuri
    13 min 45 sec

The Mainstream news media in India has always been criticized for its coverage of events. Switch on a Television news channel today, and you will be greeted with some Provocative, cringy, at times misleading headlines. In a race to become number 1, which surprisingly everyone is on their channel, objectionable graphics and hashtags are run. On top of that there are noisy debates served to the viewer peppered with shrill voices of the anchors and panelists fighting with each other. Sometimes, even beating each other up. There situation is no different as far as ground reports are concerned. There is a new form of dancing reporting which has been cintroduced to the viewer where the reporter on the ground does jumping and other physical stunts while presenting information. In the past the news channels have received wider criticism from the civil society for lack of ethics in presenting news, especially when it comes to sensitive topics. Some news channels have also earned the tag of Godi Media for this. But so far this criticism was from people, society, media watchdogs or opposition. But the situation has turned so bad that even the Modi govt has issued a strongly worded advisory to satellite news channels, that is, electronic media asking them to stop using “unparliamentary language”, “making false claims” and “misquoting agencies” in their news coverage. The advisory issued by the IB ministry said that some news channels have been making false claims, using scandalous headlines, and offering fabricated and hyperbolic statements intending to incite audiences. Well, if anything one thing must be highlighted that even the Modi govt acknowledged that sometimes what is being served as news on TV channels intends to incite audiences. And thats not it, the advisory in fact names some shows and their headlines. Arti Ghargi explains In the video.

However, for the last several years there have been claims by the Hindu rightwing organisations that the Taj Mahals real name is Tejo Mahalaya and it appears to be a Jyotirlinga or one of the exquisite Shiva temples. Some also believe that it was originally built not by Shah Jahan but Hindu king called Mansingh. The debate is decades old. And time and again keeps cropping up. However, this time Taj Mahal is in news again since a petitioner from Ayodhya had filed a writ plea before Allahabad HC seeking to open 22 rooms of Taj Mahal. The petitioner Dr Ranjeet Singh, a BJP leader from Ayodhya in his petition said that these rooms should be opened to acertained whether there are idols and inscriptions of hindu gods and goddesses inside it. • Varanasi, New "Ayodhya"? Does The Gyanvapi Mosque Petition Violate The Places of Worship Act, 1991??
    14 min 29 sec

The Controversy around the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Gyan Vapi mosque is intensifying with every passing day. While the case is in court, the emotions are riding high among supporters of the Temple side. Especially after yesterdays claim of Shivalinga being found in the well inside the Vazoo pond inside the mosque. As the threeday videography survey of the Gyanvapi mosque concluded yesterday, the elated Temple side came out claiming Baba Mill Gaye. That they found the Shivaling inside. They found more than what they were searching for. On the other hand, the Mosque side has rejected the claims and said that no shivaling has been found inside. What the temple side claims as a shivaling is in fact a broken fountain in the pond, meant to provide water for the Namazees to wash their feet. According to some reports, during the survey yesterday the court commissioners asked to empty the pond to click its picture. When the water was emptied, they found the structure in the middle of a square pond surrounded by a round wall. Some pictures and videos of the structure are also doing round on the internet. After the structure was found yesterday, the Varanasi court ordered the DM to seal the area and close the site where the Shivling was discovered and prohibit anybody from entering there. The DM, the Varanasi Police Commissioner, and the Central Reserve Police Force CRPF commandant, Varanasi, are now in charge of the protection of the Gyanvapi masjid complex, according to the court. However, there is another plea pending in the Supreme Court filed by the Gyanvapi Mosque management Committee. The Plea has challenged the varanasi court order to conduct videography of the mosque. While the SC had refused to put a stay on the matter Last week, CJI has directed the bench led by DY chandrachud to hear the matter. The Controversy around Gyanvapi Mosque is as old as Ayodhya Ramjanmabhoomi and Babri mosque dispute. Thus, there is caution and fear about the latest escalation in the matter. Several critics have also pointed out that the Temple Sides claims and attempts go against the Places of Worship Act passed in 1991. In this video today, let us understand what is the Controversy all about, what is the places of worship act and

  • BJP's Massive Mandate – The Data Behind The Hype | What Does This Data Say
    16 min 43 sec

We have been so told that the Bhartiya Janata Party BJP has a ‘prachand’ mandate of the people of India and is ruling half of India. I was intrigued by the word ‘prachand’, so I decided to find out what the word really stands for. Though I have interpreted it as meaning ‘massive’, I am still not sure what the BJP means when its leaders repeatedly use this word. Linguistics apart, I also look into the vote share of the BJP in the state assemblies. We tend to forget the vote share of the parties once the election is over. Because, in our country, the election system is such that the winner takes all. And hence, even parties with minuscule vote shares are able to govern us. My analysis shows that the BJP is mostly a singlestate party, which is diametrically opposite to what we are made to believe. This one state is Uttar Pradesh. If one wishes to be a bit more liberal you add Gujarat to the list. I know many of you will tend to scoff at this statement or downright disbelieve it. I suggest you go through this episode and decide for yourself. Always remember, majority can be manipulated, but vote share reflects the party’s support base. Unfortunately, these very few supporters today are dictating the fortune of the remaining people of India. Thank you for watching. • Did History Textbooks "Teach More About Mughals and Less About Hindu Kings" As Akshay Kumar Claims?
    8 min 25 sec

Winston Churchill had once said Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. But this applies if you take interest in learning history. What happens when you dont Well, this happens when you dont learn history. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, a Canadian citizen yesterday, was giving an interview ahead of the release of his film. His film Prithviraj is based on the life and times of King Prithviraj. In his interview to ANIs Smita Prakash he said Indian rulers are seldom mentioned in history texts, but invaders dominate. He was quoted as saying by ANI, Unfortunately, our history textbooks only have twothree lines about Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, but a lot has been mentioned about the invaders. There is hardly anything about our culture and our Maharajas in history books, the actor added, while appealing to the Education minister to look into the matter. Nobody is there to write about it in our history books. I would like to appeal to the Education minister to look into this matter and see if we can balance it. We should know about Mughals, but know about our kings too. They were great too, said Akshay Kumar. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi when asked if the Indian film industry has arrived at a global scene. It isnt surprising that this statement came from someone who asked PM Modi whether he eats mango or not But Akshay Kumars response that our History books are dominated by chapters and information about Mughals and Nobody is there to write about it in our history books is a classic example of what happens when you sleep through your history class. And it is not just Mr Akshay Kumar. There are many others who often say OMG why didnt they teach us this in school. For all such people, issued in Public interest, I would like to give a tour of the high school history syllabus and see if our books were really dominated with history of Mughals Arti Ghargi Explains.

  • TRS Will Win Telangana In 2023, BJP Is No Match| What Does This Data Say
    18 min 42 sec

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi or the TRS is getting itself into election mode, while the BJP finds itself very poorly placed in the state. Telangana is one of the many states that go to elections in 2023, just before the grand finale of 2024. The problems with BJP any manyfold. Their state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar is a political lightweight, nonentity and a novice in party politics. An equivalent of BS Yeddyurappa in Telangana is missing. That in itself speaks of the party’s poll readiness. Telangana has 119 assembly seats. Amit Shah has declared MISSION 70 as the party’s target for the 2023 elections. BJP’s targets have been missed by miles several times. The leadership is unsure and jittery even at campaign stage. To try and boost the BJPs image, Prime Minster Modi flew in to Hyderabad, directly from Japan, to be the guest of honor for the Annual Convocation of the Indian School of Business. The state government showed that he is most unwelcome, so much so the Chief Minister skipped the event. Modi being what is best known for, attacked KCR for ‘parivaarwad’ and being superstitious. He further said that two people have throttled the aspirations of the people of Telangana. As usual, his comments were irrelevant, repetitive and down right boring. He was addressing a huge crowd of about a hundred ‘party workers’ at the old Begumpet airport. Telangana has been run excellently by the TRS government as you will see by the data I provide. It appears BJP will have to wait many more years to get into power in the state of Telangana. Thank you for watching. • Will BJP Field Arif Mohammed Khan In Presidential Race As Backlash From Middle East Countries Grows?
    9 min

After weeks of waiting, the Election commission of India today finally announced the schedule for the Presidential Election. The presidential election is once in a fiveyear process that tests the strength of the ruling party and the opposition. Current President Ramnath Kovinds tenure in office ends on July 24. He was elected as President of India in 2017 for a period of five years.as the Presidential election approaches, once again speculations are rife about who could be the Presidential candidate of the BJP. The political watcher believe BJP could put up Arif Mohammed Khan as the Presidential candidate. The speculation gained momentum as AAP MLA Somnath Bharati today tweeted that Arif Mohammad Khan was a “strong contender” for the post. Bharti tweeted “Learnt from a credible source that Janab Arif Mohammad Khan, present Governor of Kerala, is a strong contender for president of India. Its believable in view of steps .narendramodi Ji is taking to counter antiIndia narrative, getting built across the world because of fringies.” But Arif Mohammed Khan is not the only one. Some political watchers believe that BJP may also nominate Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. Naqvi a Rajya Sabha member was not renominated this time around. This effectively means that once his tenure ends, BJP will not even have a single Muslim MP in parliament.

  • What Does Data Say: Deteriorating Security In Persian Gulf| Indian Navy| Operation Sankalp| PM Modi

The Indian Navy continues its presence in the Persian Gulf to take care of Indian maritime interests in the region, as part of Operation Sankalp. INS Talwar has been deployed in the Strait of Hormuz due to the deteriorating security situation in the Gulf. INS Talwar happens to be India’s frontline stealth frigate. In this episode, I take you through the reasons behind Operation Sankalp and how the threat of ship hijacking is reaching the Indian shore. The two shiphijacking hotspots are now the Gulf of Guinea off the West African coast and, the Persian Gulf. Some of you may be surprised to see the Persian Gulf figure in the list. As the Somali pirates ran out of business after the World Navy’s stepped up the vigil off the Somali coast, these people started to migrate elsewhere. West Africa was an easy target for the hijackers with the bulk of the trade happening through the Gulf of Guinea, including the Nigerian oil. The geopolitical situation in the Gulf took a turn for the worse when United Nations imposed sanctions on Iran in 2016. Trump further added to those sanctions in 2018 and even forced India to refrain from buying Iranian oil. This forced the Iranians to find clandestine methods of carrying out trade during the sanctions. In the meanwhile, the Islamic terrorist group, popularly known as the Houthis, accelerated their fight gains the Saudibacked military in Yemen. Some say that due to support from Iran, the Houthis were able to capture power in North Yemen. In return, the Houthis made themselves available to ‘assist’ Iran in the exportimport of cargo. This arrangement led to increasing in Ship hijacking in the Strait of Hormuz, a small narrow sea lane joining the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf. The start is also conveniently located to the Iranian large Naval base in Bandar Abbas. India gets more than sixty percent 60 of its oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Also, trade with all the Gulf countries happens through the same strait. In the past couple of years, several ship hijackings involved Indian crew. Therefore, the Indian Navy had to step in to protect both ships and men Crew.

  • Infant Safety in an Airplane - What You Need To Know | WHAT DOES THIS DATA SAY |
    21 min 30 sec

The information given in this episode is IMPORTANT. Please watch the episode till the very end. Children have a greater risk while flying. In any unfortunate air incident, the children are susceptible to more injuries. We, as parents, should be aware of how to secure our children during a flight. Most of us take child safety for granted. In fact, I have observed that most parents carry infants in their laps. I present the data related to child fatalities and injuries from the unfortunate Air India Express flight IX1344 crash of August 2020. Out of the ten 10 infants, three 3 lost their lives while three more were seriously injured. All ten infants were sitting on the laps of their parents. After the DGCA probe, the final crash report states that Air India Express does not have a Child Restraint System nor any supplementary system. The airline encourages passengers to carry infants in their laps. I further show you videos of crash tests conducted on vehicles carrying infants and children. Even a car crash at 30 km/hour can prove fatal for infants and children if not secured properly. It is essential you see this video because the same principle of force applies to vehicles and aircraft. DGCA has sent an advisory to all airlines in India to implement Child Restraint Systems wherever feasible and possible. This advisory came in February 2022. So far, I have not seen any action from any airline. It is time that we, the traveling public, start putting the right pressure on airlines to do their bit to make it safer for our kids. Do watch the full episode, and please subscribe to my channel if not already done so.

  • Bihar 2025Battle Will Be Between Nitish Kumar and Modi WHAT DOES THIS DATA SAY EPISODE 54
    20 min 41 sec

When Nitish Kumar comes up with idea of conducting a Caste Census in Bihar, there has to something that is more than what meets the eye. The last caste census in India was done by the British around 1931. Thereafter, in 2011 a Socioeconomic caste census was done by the UPA government in 2011 – but they were unable to publish the results before being voted out of power in 2014. The Modi government was not too keen to expose the caste data collated during the socioeconomic caste census. So, everything other that the caste data was released for public consumption by the NDA government in 2015. Bihar remains casteridden. Over the years, this has led to massive politicization of the people of Bihar. Each party has created vote banks that it tries to nurture. Bihar is notoriously known for its infamous caste wars. Hundreds of caste wars in the past fifty 50 years have resulted in thousands of deaths. Mostly, it the Dalits and weaker sections of the society who have suffered. Bihar remains a backward state since independence. Nothing seems to ever change in this state – things only seem to get worse. In many of the development parameters, Bihar remains at the bottom of the pile. Bihar also remains a net importer of revenue. The young enterprising and hardworking men and women are forced to migrate outside Bihar to seek employment and feed their families back home. The distress among this section of Biharis’ is maximum. The migration also leads to stress factors in the recipient states who themselves have to cope with high unemployment rates. If the state has to look up, casteism has to be set aside. But today, no politician is willing to taek up this mantle.

  • Mood Himachal Pradesh: How Internal Revolt In BJP Is Giving Its Leadership Sleepless Nights???
    9 min 22 sec

It is only a week till Himachal Pradesh votes in Assembly election. The hill state will go for poll on November 12. The results will be announced almost a month later on December 8. There are total 68 seats in Himachal Pradesh assembly. The magic figure to form govt in the state is 35. Currently, BJP has 45 seats and Congress has 22 and CPIM has 1 seat. The interesting part about the hill state is that in the last 30 years it has never repeated the govt. Since the formation of the state in 1962, the Congress won consecutive elections until 1977. In 1977, Janata party came to power in the state riding on anger against Indira Gandhi. However, Congress soon won subsequent two assembly elections. From 1990 onwards though, the state hasn’t yet seen a govt repeat the rule in the state. And that factor makes Congress hopeful this time around. It has made BJP anxious though it hopes to break the trend. BJP President JP Nadda himself has taken the lead in campaigning to ensure this. However, the road to regain power in the Hill state is not so smooth for BJP. The BJP here faces many issues. The discontent among apple growing farmers over fair pricing, issue of the New Pension scheme, issues of Unemployment and inflation and on top of that, the party is facing internal revolt. Will this split in the party dent BJP’s dreams of breaking the jinx in Himachal Pradesh

  • Bookies Do Go Wrong In Their Poll Prediction- Gujarat is no exception| WHAT DOES THIS DATA SAY EP 68
    11 min 47 sec

Gujarat elections are heating up. The Election commission has finally declared the poll and counting dates. With this our news channels have got fodder to run their channels. All of them are invariably shouting out the so called ‘exclusive’ opinion poll results. Many of these opinion polls have predicted a landslide victory for the BJP. Most of them predict that BJP would land up getting between 120 and 135 seats. The Congress would stand decimated and the Aam Aadmi Party would make a poor debut. The Bookies too are predicted landslide win for the Bhartiya Janata Party. However, if you dig deeper into the data, these numbers become hard to digest and are really not back by any solid numerical evidence. The opinion poll agencies and the satta bazaars are going two major reasons – The 1014 strong Patel community will vote enmass for the BJP. Hardik Patel, who is 2017 was agitating, is now in the BJP. There is no Ahmed Patel so there is no one to take care of the Congress ground cadre. AAP has no credible local leader. As we know, the exit polls do go wrong in their predictions. The Satta Bazar too is no exception. In this episode I show how the data does not support the poll opinion polls. In addition, I recollect a few elections where the satta bazar prediction not only went wrong, they went horribly wrong. So, there is nothing for us to believe or not believe these poll predictions. I would rather wait for the election results. But one ting for sure is that if the BJP were to win 135 seats, a lot of interesting statistics would come up.

  • Layoffs and more Layoffs – Why is the Government Silent?| WHAT DOES THIS DATA SAY | EP79
    18 min

In this video, Im asking the question: Why is the government so quiet about the recent spate of layoffs in the tech and services industries in India The recent spate of job losses has hit India hard, and the government is doing nothing to help the situation. In fact, the government seems to be doing everything it can to ignore the issue. This is a troubling trend and one that needs to be addressed. People all across industries are losing jobs all over the world. India is not isolated from the rest of the world so the trickledown effect is quite obvious. Each day there is an antagonizing story of people losing jobs. Tech, BPO, and IT services are leading the pack in layoffs. One single job loss in this country affects 5 family members. New jobs are not easily forthcoming as the real GDP growth has been stagnant. There is no safety net in India for assisting people during the layoff period. The government on its part is silent. The situation is grim. See this episode to know the extent of distress in the young generation of our country. Background Around 3,000 tech workers are now being let off every day on average in January across the globe, including in India, as more Big Tech companies like Microsoft and Google join the ongoing layoff season. The frequency of the firings has increased as concerns about a worldwide economic recession have grown. 166 IT companies have fired more than 65,000 workers so far. Indian technology services firms may lay off between 80,000 to 120,000 lakh people over the next two quarters, a news report from TheWire said. The situation is grim. Within India, January 2023 alone saw around 7,000 job losses. The Startup Slowdown Funding Winter According to startupindia.gov.in “The startup funding landscape has rapidly evolved in the past years due to accelerated adoption of digital tools, increased private equity funds in tech companies, increased private market going public and government initiatives supporting startups. In 2017, a total of 13.7 billion was invested into the Indian startup ecosystem across 820 deals, whereas in 2021, the ecosystem experienced a boom with venture capitalists backing the startups with record investments of 42 billion. This, in addition to the rise of 46 unicorns companies with 1 billion valuations, has further contributed to India’s growth story. “ “However, in the current times, where the recent announcement by the US Fed on the spike in inflation and hike in interest rates, coupled with the growing geopolitical tension and the impact of the pandemic, the startups are witnessing a funding crunch as the investors are cutting down on investments to startups. As an aftereffect, to withstand the ‘funding winter’, the startups are reducing cash burns, speeding layoffs, and focusing more on generating revenue in their businesses.” Its time for the government to take action and help these people find new jobs, rather than just sitting on their hands. The economy of India and the future of its people depend on it. The situation is grim.

After repeating it a number of times, Im compelled to repeat this again. In Politics, no one is a permanent friend and no one is a permanent enemy. Those who are making blistering attacks on the opponent can be seen walking hand in hand the next day and vice versa. Similar was the experience for many yesterday. When Maharashtras DyCM Devendra Fadnavis and Former CM Uddhav Thackeray walked inside the assembly compound together with smiles on their faces. The Supreme Court, on Wednesday, repeated its concerns over failure of authorities to take prompt action against instances of hate speech. “State is impotent, state is powerless it does not act in time. Why do we have a State at all if it is remaining silent” in very stringent words Justice KM Joseph aired his anguish during the hearing. Yesterday, Advocate, Mr. Nizam Pasha, appearing for the petitioner, had apprised the Court that the contempt petition has been filed based on a news article published in the the Indian Express, which mentioned that 50 rallies spurring hate has taken place in Maharashtra in the last 4 months.

The underlying reasons for each one of them could be different, but once thing that was quite apparent that they felt the party had become rudderless. The fighting spirit, the direction and leadership – everything was missing. Little did they realize, that something else had been cooking.
