After the sudden demise of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in 1964, Pakistan plotted against India, aiming at taking control of the disputed territory of Jammu Kashmir. This led to the India-Pakistan war in 1965. In this documentary, Major General GD Bakshi takes us to Asal Uttar, Punjab – the battleground of one of the worlds fiercest tank battles and the key turning point that turned the tide of war in Indias favour. He recounts the incidents leading to the war while analyzing Pakistans Operation Gibraltar which was designed to infiltrate their forces into Jammu and Kashmir and Indias military response to counter which ended after a United Nations mandated cease fire.
