Pinki is a fiveyearold girl with a cleft lip, born into a desperately poor family from a village in the Mirzapur District in India. Pinkis parents did not know that her condition could be fixed with one simple operation until they met Pankaj, a social worker travelling through rural India, gathering patients to go to a hospital in Varanasi that provides free surgery to thousands every year. This reallife fairy tale follows Pinkis journey from a life of isolation and ostracism to a smile of joy.
