Kim Min-kyu, a wealthy tech genius, lives in isolation due to a rare condition that makes him violently allergic to human touch. He insists he is not lonely.
Min-kyu secretly funds the Santa Maria robot project. Meanwhile, struggling inventor Jo Ji-ah becomes involved with the project for financial survival.
Ji-ah is hired as a temporary substitute for the humanoid robot Aji-3. Min-kyu remains unaware that the “robot” is human.
Ji-ah enters Min-kyu’s house posing as Aji-3 and begins learning the strict behavioral protocols required to deceive him.
Min-kyu tests Aji-3 extensively, impressed by her emotional intelligence, while Ji-ah struggles to hide her humanity.
Aji-3 earns points within Min-kyu’s ranking system, slowly becoming his most trusted presence.
Min-kyu takes Aji-3 to a critical business meeting, astonishing investors with her advanced responses.
Ji-ah narrowly prevents physical contact, while Baek-gyun grows suspicious of the situation.
A medical emergency forces Ji-ah to inject Min-kyu, accidentally revealing his condition to her.
Min-kyu begins seeing Aji-3 as more than a machine and confides in her about his past trauma.
Ji-ah realizes Min-kyu is emotionally dependent on Aji-3 and begins to feel conflicted.

Ji-ah returns briefly, but the Santa Maria team becomes divided over continuing the deception.
Ji-ah steals Min-kyu’s first kiss, leaving him emotionally shaken and questioning his feelings.
Do-won attempts to manipulate Jin-bae, escalating corporate and personal threats around Min-kyu.
Ji-ah wants to confess the truth, but Doctor Oh insists the lie must continue to protect Min-kyu.
Min-kyu restarts the real Aji-3. Before parting, he gives Ji-ah his necklace as a final gesture.
Ji-ah and Min-kyu are forced together again when circumstances lock them inside a boathouse overnight.
Their emotional closeness deepens, while Min-kyu’s enemies close in on the Santa Maria team.
Ji-ah maintains her disguise after a chance meeting on a train, confusing Min-kyu further.
Ji-ah pretends to have amnesia, devastating Min-kyu and pushing him toward emotional collapse.
In the rain, Ji-ah kisses Min-kyu sincerely, but he pulls away, unable to trust his emotions.
Min-kyu finally agrees to hear Ji-ah’s explanation. Meanwhile, side romances and rivalries unfold at the café.
