Dan-oh’s attempts to change the story are met with cruel resistance. Broken objects repair themselves, altered events reset, and choices are erased as if they never happened. The writer’s control proves absolute, no matter how hard she fights. Yet, her growing awareness gives her the will to keep resisting.

Eun Dan-oh, a cheerful student at the prestigious Seuli High School, lives with a serious heart condition. She begins experiencing sudden time lapses and hallucinations that disrupt her daily life. These unexplained episodes leave her questioning her mental health and reality itself.
Dan-oh notices strange gaps in her memory where time seems to skip forward. Events around her unfold without her awareness, leaving her disoriented. Slowly, she realizes that these “shadows” follow a pattern beyond coincidence.
Dan-oh discovers clues that suggest her world operates according to scripted rules. She suspects that her life may not be entirely her own. Determined to uncover the truth, she begins paying closer attention to her surroundings.
Dan-oh realizes she exists inside a comic book world and believes she might be its female lead. Her confidence is shaken when she notices that another girl already occupies that role. The realization crushes her expectations of destiny.
Dan-oh witnesses an accident exactly as shown in her storyboard visions. However, something unexpected occurs when a nameless background student intervenes. The boy saves her, creating the first true deviation from the script.
Intrigued by the mysterious boy, Dan-oh searches for him throughout the school. She senses that he exists outside the writer’s expectations. His presence gives her hope that the story can be changed.
Dan-oh meets Do-hwa, who notices her strange behavior and growing independence. Meanwhile, her engagement to Baek Kyung begins to feel suffocating. She starts questioning whether any of her relationships are real.
Dan-oh’s health worsens, sending her to the hospital unexpectedly. There, she reflects on her lack of control and the cruel irony of scripted fate. Her determination to change her ending strengthens.
During a school retreat, Dan-oh gets lost in the mountains and is overwhelmed by fear. The nameless boy appears and comforts her. She realizes the story has changed again—because of him.
Dan-oh grows closer to the boy and names him Haru. Their bond develops outside the script’s control. Others begin noticing changes in the story’s flow.
At Seuli High, events grow lively as Dan-oh openly defies the narrative. Kyung and Mi-chae grow uneasy about Haru’s growing presence. The balance of the comic world begins to shift.
Dan-oh breaks off her engagement with Kyung, deeply wounding his pride. Kyung struggles to understand his emotions beyond the script. Meanwhile, Haru becomes increasingly disoriented about his origins.
Mi-chae hides information about Haru’s past, increasing his confusion. Dan-oh realizes that knowledge is power in this world. Secrets become dangerous.
Kyung discovers fragments of a burned book and confronts Dried Squid Fairy. He learns that previous works by the writer may hold answers. Kyung’s awareness begins to awaken.
Kyung humiliates Dan-oh on stage as the script demands. Immediately afterward, he is consumed by guilt he cannot explain. His emotions begin breaking through scripted behavior.
Dan-oh tells Kyung she never truly liked him. Haru’s pain intensifies as the story shifts violently. He begins to believe that only he can protect Dan-oh from her fate.
Kyung gathers the courage to ask Dan-oh on a real date outside the script. Haru’s sudden reappearance disrupts everything. Dan-oh’s life spirals into emotional chaos.
Haru disappears completely, yet the world continues as if nothing has changed. Dan-oh is devastated by how easily the story erases him. Dried Squid Fairy blames Haru for destabilizing the narrative.
Dan-oh questions whether love has meaning in a scripted world. Haru’s absence leaves an emotional void only she remembers. Her resolve begins to falter.
During Sports Day, Dan-oh searches desperately for Haru. When they cross paths, he fails to recognize her. The loss cuts deeper than disappearance.
Haru is haunted by dreams of Dan-oh without understanding why. Dan-oh, exhausted by unreturned feelings, decides to give up on love. Kyung remains unaware of her feelings for Haru.
Joo-da asks Nam-joo to reconcile with Do-hwa, who returns to the A3 storyline. Romantic tensions shift across the comic world. Old roles attempt to reassert control.
Kyung finds Dan-oh inside the book and begins questioning reality directly. His awareness deepens, making him dangerous to the narrative. Truth spreads quietly.
Haru slowly regains fragments of his memories. Dan-oh realizes love can transcend erasure. The writer’s control begins to weaken.
The characters openly resist the script during stage moments. The comic world destabilizes further. Fate and free will collide.
Dan-oh faces the inevitability of her illness and her written ending. Haru refuses to accept a world without her. Love becomes an act of rebellion.
The story begins resetting into a new comic world. Familiar faces reappear with altered roles. Only fragments of memory remain.
Dan-oh senses echoes of her past life within the new story. Haru appears again, seemingly unaware. Destiny teases repetition.
Through shared moments and emotional resonance, memories begin resurfacing. The bond between Dan-oh and Haru proves stronger than any script. Love defies authorship.
Dan-oh and Haru reunite beyond the boundaries of the written world. Whether scripted or real, they choose each other freely. In the end, love becomes the one story that cannot be controlled.
